Learn to Skate Instructor - Temporary
The University of Pennsylvania Class of 1923 Ice Skating Rink is seeking a temporary part-time Learn to Skate Instructor. This position involves teaching group ice skating lessons under the guidance of the Learn to Skate Director and Assistant Manager. The role requires availability primarily on weekends during the Learn to Skate program, with a focus on ensuring safety and excellent customer experience. The instructor must be visible to customers and staff while at the rink and may assist with communications and other duties as assigned.
Job Duties:
- Instruct group skating lessons per the Learn to Skate Director's daily plan.
- Assist in communications from lesson students to the Learn to Skate Director and administrators.
- Work cooperatively with the Assistant Manager, LTS Director, and Shift Supervisor on duty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Availability to work weekends as scheduled.
- Must be able to skate and possess the ability to teach skating lessons, subject to the approval of the Learn to Skate Director.
- US Figure Skating Association certification preferred.
- Registration with Learn to Skate USA is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
- Ability to instruct students of all ages (5 years and up).
