Position Highlights
The Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies (DPS) in the College of Education (COE) invites applications for a full-time appointment as an Lecturer, Deaf Studies/Educational Interpreting.
This appointment begins in August 2026.
This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach courses per semester.
- Actively participate in departmental, college and university service activities.
- Engage in outreach at the local and national professional level.
- Mentor and advise students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skill.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's in Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, or a closely related field.
- Interpreter Certification (NIC, NAD, RID, CDI, or equitable qualification) required; interpreting experience expected.
- Experience with direct engagement and/or professional services with varied communities.
- Experience with the discipline of Deaf Studies and Educational Interpreting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with course, curriculum, and program development.
- Experience with accreditation processes and standards for interpreter education programs.
- Membership in various interpreter, deaf, and interpreter training organizations.
- Record of effective teaching and professional activity.
- Teaching, service, and applied research experiences that contribute to a variety of opportunities in higher education and that engage with various populations that may have differing needs; potential to teach in multiple formats (face to face, hybrid, online).
- Experience/commitment to fostering an engaging faculty, staff, and student environment.
