Lecturer History
Job Summary
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of History, the Lecturer in US History requires teaching a 4/5 load (90% of effort), with 10% devoted to service. The position is a 10-month renewable Lecturer appointment, non-tenure track, with opportunities for promotion.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in History, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History, by August 1, 2026.
- Qualifications to teach US history survey courses as well as courses in Historical Methods.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in History
- Experience in the field of public history
- Successful college teaching experience
- Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses.
