Scope of Job:
The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) seeks applicants for a three-year non-tenure track lecturer position in U.S. History beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. This position will be primarily responsible for teaching U.S. History I and History II with occasional additional courses as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include dual enrollment courses for local high school students. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold an M.A. in History or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education with at least 18 graduate hours in History.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
18 or more graduate hours in History
Preferred Qualification:
Experience teaching HIST 1301 and/or HIST 1302 and/or other teaching experience relevant to the position. Dual enrollment experience is desirable but not essential. Experience working with first generation students and/or experience teaching at a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) or HSSD is desirable but not essential.
