The Opportunity
As Lecturer in Allied Health Assistance, you will deliver high-quality teaching and contribute to curriculum development, coordination, and student support within the Diploma of Allied Health Assistance (AHA). In this role, you will help ensure students receive contemporary, evidence-informed learning experiences that are aligned with industry standards and workforce needs. You will also support student engagement, progression, and successful completion through effective teaching, feedback, and academic guidance.
You will provide academic leadership in teaching and learning by contributing to curriculum design, assessment development, and continuous improvement. You will strengthen the relevance of the AHA curriculum to contemporary allied health practice through engagement with industry and community partners, and by participating in integrated, cross-disciplinary program delivery. Through teaching excellence, academic service, and engagement with scholarship, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing UniSC’s reputation for high-quality allied health education.

You will:
- teach and support students across the AHA program, delivering high-quality learning experiences through face-to-face, online, and blended modes, and providing timely feedback and academic guidance;
- lead curriculum and assessment development, including designing, evaluating, and continuously improving learning activities and assessment tasks to ensure they meet industry standards and graduate outcomes; and
- build and maintain industry and community partnerships, strengthening the program’s workforce relevance through engagement with allied health providers and contributing to cross-disciplinary program delivery and regional engagement initiatives.
About you:
You are an experienced allied health professional and passionate educator who is committed to student success. You bring strong clinical and academic knowledge, and you can design, deliver, and evaluate effective learning experiences across multiple teaching modes. You are collaborative, inclusive, and actively engaged with industry and community partners to support workforce development and student outcomes.
You will possess:
- A degree in an allied health profession (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, nutrition and dietetics);
- Completion or near completion of a doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field;
- Effectiveness as a teacher, demonstrated by student feedback, peer review, and evidence of curriculum design and delivery;
- An established research track record, including refereed publications, participation in research teams, and co-supervision of honours and HDR students;
- Membership and strong connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups, and/or professional practice;
- Strong personal qualities and a collegial approach that support a positive academic environment and high standards for staff and students; and
- Evidence of ongoing academic development and a commitment to improving teaching practice.
Desirable
- Experience undertaking academic administrative functions, e.g. course coordination, within a University.
