The University of Sydney School of Health Sciences is seeking an outstanding Research Fellow (Level B), the incumbent will work under broad direction, translating accountabilities into tasks to deliver against goals. They will be the subject matter expert, provide sound advice and recommendations, resolve complex matters and escalated issues related to their responsibilities.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct original research related to stuttering independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations
- Maintain a research profile, including peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and/or seminar papers.
- Develop research collaborations and engage in translational research that results in improved policy or practice in stuttering education and service provision.
- Maintain quality, standards and excellence in research activities and output.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
- Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda
- Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
- Experienced academic and speech pathologist
- Completion or near completion of a Doctor of Philosophy in the Discipline of Speech Pathology
- Proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity related to stuttering
- A developing research profile and network, ideally related to stuttering
- Demonstrated experience contributing to the academic life and administrative tasks of the broader workplace, with a track record of effective teamwork
