Lecturer of Social Work (MSW)
Primary Duties
Teaches master’s-level social work courses across delivery sites (Pueblo and Colorado Springs) with a standard teaching load of twelve (12) credit hours per semester; prepares syllabi and instructional materials; aligns instruction with CSWE competencies; evaluates student learning outcomes; maintains office hours; advises students academically and professionally; and submits grades in accordance with university policy.
Engages in professional growth and applied scholarship consistent with non-tenure-track faculty expectations, including participation in conferences, workshops, curriculum development, and innovative pedagogical and assessment practices that enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning.
Contributes to the department, college, university, and profession through committee service, accreditation and assessment activities, student recruitment and retention efforts, departmental planning, community engagement, and participation in program outreach and student success initiatives.
Ancillary Duties
Participates in departmental and community outreach activities such as Discover Day, Enrollment Extravaganzas, and advising and recruitment events
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Ability to teach across the MSW curriculum
- Commitment to serving diverse populations and learners
- Ability to relate effectively to graduate students
- Ability to deliver instruction in face-to-face, online, distance, and hybrid formats
- Minimum two (2) years of post-MSW direct practice experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado (or eligible for licensure)
- Ability to teach practice, policy, or research coursework
- Ability to develop and modify curriculum
- Ability to teach in face-to-face, online, distance, and hybrid modalities
- Experience teaching in MSW programs
