Position Overview

Professional and Distance Education Programs (PDEP) is accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer appointment to teach online, graduate course(s) in the Master of Systems Engineering program. Duties include but are not limited to online course development in partnership with Ohio State Online, curriculum/syllabus design, content and materials development, and teaching. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to complete activities and provide support for developing and teaching graduate students, depending on chosen candidates degree certification. All courses are taught online. The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering or a related area
  • Three to five years of teaching and/or industry related experience in the fields of Systems Engineering or relevant areas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio States Shared Values

Department Information

Professional and Distance Education Programs: The Ohio State University College of Engineering Professional and Distance Education Programs (PDEP) office opened in 2013 to develop and manage the college's executive education and workforce development programs including online master's degrees, non-credit certification programs, short courses, and boot camps. PDEP offers a vast portfolio of courses and programs focused on educating, training, and preparing people for present and future career opportunities. Since 2013, we have helped thousands of people pursue professional development, upskill, reskill, enter the workforce, and advance in their current roles. Integrated Systems Engineering: The Department of Integrated Systems Engineering (ISE) offers degrees in industrial and systems engineering (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.). These degrees focus on the manufacturing, design, operations, and management of complex systems, providing students with a blend of technical, management and human-centered skills. The department has faculty doing cutting edge research in human systems integration, operations research, and manufacturing. The department has 50 faculty and staff, and graduates about 150 undergraduates and 30 graduate students per year.
