Lecturer - Pharmaceutical Sciences

Position Overview

This is a Lecturer opening which is a non-tenure-track member of the faculty whose primary role is instructional, teaching Pharm D students within the professional pharmacy program with no obligations to perform research or service. This is a one-year appointment through May 16, 2027. This position will teach courses within one or more of the departments: Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. This position will be in-person on the Lawrence, Kansas campus.

Job Description

• 40% - Delivering education content to enhance learning outcomes of students.
• 30% - Designing relevant course materials, lesson plans and participate in curriculum development.
• 20% - Providing academic advising, mentoring students, and answering their questions on course materials.
• 10% - Assessing student progress through assignments, quizzes, and examinations.

Required Qualifications

1. PharmD or PhD in a science related field.
2. Knowledge in two or more areas of: modern biochemistry, chemical biology, physiochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, or organic chemistry or related fields.
3. Experience teaching professional students, in particular pharmacist students

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with Canvas
2. Prior teaching experience within higher education
