The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking applicants for a part-time Lecturer position in the School of Music, specifically in Bharatanatyam (Indian classical dance).

Salary Range: $3,500 per course.
Hours: Part-time, fixed-term track, exempt.
Essential Functions: The School of Music invites applicants for a part-time position in Bharatanatyam. Responsibilities include teaching weekly classes and providing realistic assessments of student performance.
Required Qualifications:
- College graduate with baccalaureate or higher degree.
- Graduated in Bharatanatyam (Arangetram certificate or plaque).
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching Bharatanatyam.
- Internship certificate following the Arangetram, or experience in teaching with an established teacher in a Bharatanatyam School.
- Letter from the school giving details of training.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in Carnatic music.
- Resume describing experience in running a Bharatanatyam school, service on arts organization boards.
Required Application Materials:
- Resume/CV required.
- Cover letter that includes a personal teaching statement.
- Names/contact information for three references which include the Bharatanatyam School where the applicant graduated from.
- Letter from the college dance team faculty mentor or the college if possible, and links to YouTube videos of two recent performances choreographed by the applicant.
Additional Information: UTSA is a tobacco-free campus. This is a security-sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire. Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable. This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
