About the Role

We are currently seeking one part-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to contribute to our teaching provision in Fashion Knitwear and Knitted Textiles at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our current knit specialist courses BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles and MA Fashion Knitwear attract a diverse mix of UK and International students, we are looking for a visionary and critically engaged Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our newly reimagined Department of Fashion.

This role sits at the intersection of digital craft, critical sustainability and emerging technologies, complementing our department’s wider focus on fashion communication, brand strategy and Ai-driven futures. From Shima Seiki programming to CLO3D prototyping / pattern-making to ethical material thinking, we want someone who will guide students to develop fashion knitwear and knitted textile practices that are not only innovative but strategically and culturally attuned to global shifts.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse cohort of students and know how to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively using a variety of teaching methods. A willingness to engage with specialist subject research, industry developments, maintain strong industry links and incorporate real-world insights into your teaching practice is required.
