Description

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Houston invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position to teach courses in Systems Engineering with a focus on Healthcare Applications for the Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering program.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise or professional experience in healthcare informatics, data analytics, or health information systems.
• Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, a commitment to student success, excellent teaching, and familiarity with electronic health records, data visualization tools, and healthcare data security and privacy standards.
• College-level teaching experience and industry experience in healthcare IT, analytics, or systems engineering are highly desirable.

The start date of this appointment is January 2026.

Faculty are expected to be on campus multiple times a week to teach classes and perform other additional duties that may be assigned.
