Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Criminal Justice at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University seeks a full-time non-tenure track lecturer, to teach in-person and online courses. This person teaches four courses per semester. Classes will be assigned as needed by the Department Chair. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, student groups and academic advising and career mentoring, serving on departmental/college and university committees (i.e., representing the department at New Student Orientations).
This is a full-time, 9-month Lecturer / Teaching Assistant Professor. The faculty rank will be based on the selected candidate’s credentials and education.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Criminal Justice is housed within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. It offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice with a Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation, a Master of Science and a Ph.D. with four areas of specialization, Digital Forensics, Investigative Science, Social Justice, and Research Methods. The Department has over 550 majors.
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences houses the Departments of Criminal Justice, English, History and Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Liberal Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts. CAHSS is an academic unit that reports to the Office of the Provost/Division of Academic Affairs and enrolls more than 2,000 students and has more than 160 full-time faculty members.

Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree with professional experience in the discipline for an appointment as a Lecturer.
PhD with professional experience in the discipline for an appointment at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
At least five years of teaching and professional experience is preferred with proven skills in the discipline.
