Job Summary

The Department of Communication at Georgia College & State University invites applications for a Limited-Term Lecturer position (non-tenure track) as a Communication Generalist to begin August 2026. This position will teach courses at the undergraduate level. Successful candidates are expected to engage students in research and/or creative activities. Areas of instructional need may include media literacy, professional media writing, interviewing and listening, and publication editing. The position emphasizes effective teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship of students preparing for careers in public relations, multimedia journalism, video and audio production, and other related communication fields. Additionally, the faculty may teach in the CORE.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Masters Degree in Mass Communication or related field required.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1. (www.sacscoc.org)

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the principles associated with effective teaching and learning.
• Relevant academic or professional experience in communication (i.e., professional media writing, public relations, interviewing and listening, publication editing, advertising)
• Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, remain current in their field, and actively contribute to academic mentoring.

Proposed Salary

Salary is $52,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education.
