"Maintenance Technician"

Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include:

• perform daily maintenance duties at institutional facilities, in a professional and safe manner in accordance with training and safety standards;
• Skill sets for general maintenance would include but not limited to: carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades
• complete assigned tasks in a timely and organized manner;
• communicate in a professional manner to faculty, staff students, visitors and co-workers.

Required abilities:

• working independently with limited supervision;
• ability to frequently and independently lift up to 25 pound items in a repetitive manner, and occasionally lift items up to 60 pounds;
• no sensitivity to common construction materials;
• able to work in dusty and/or unconditioned spaces at times;
• work consistently for 2 hours completing common maintenance activities without breaks;
• possess substantial range of motion to complete assigned tasks;
• be able to travel up to four flights of stairs carrying construction supplies and equipment.
