Management Accountant - Property Group
The University of Cambridge's Estates Division is seeking an experienced Management Accountant who has relevant experience in project and property reporting. The position will complement the existing team of Management Accountants who look after the property portfolio of the academic and non-academic activities of the institution that is both growing and transforming to become a more sustainable leader in its field of operations.
The role will report into one of the Finance Managers but is expected to be able to work right across the entire portfolio of activities of the Estates Department to be able to support the management team and deliver accurate and timely financial information that Heads of Services can rely on to make decisions around their budget areas of responsibility.
The University is currently going through a number of change programmes where the financial transparency and systems are under review and the role will need to become engaged with the financial reporting implications to the sectional areas and the Finance Managers who act as the Business Partners for the Estates Department.
Candidates should be qualified accountants (or qualified by experience) with good relevant experience and be flexible within a small team that support each other and our areas of operation.

Essential skills are:
- Prior knowledge of Sage,
- Excellent Excel skills (which will be tested if successful at interview),
- Attention to detail,
- The ability to use initiative.
Desirable skills are:
- Knowledge of accounting in Higher Education and/or the housing sector,
- Experience in implementing a change of finance system.
