Manager, Admitting LAK FT Day
Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Admitting Director, the Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations for the department including the PBX area. The Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, staff scheduling and staff coaching including progressive discipline. The Manager is accountable for the education of staff as it relates to new and/or revised processes and also for the appropriate training of all newly hired staff. It is the duty of the Manager to maintain the Patient Registration Director informed of all department operations and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years' experience working in a medical setting performing registration/authorization/scheduling, referral center, or clinical functions.
- 2 years Registration or Business Office experience
- 3 years Supervisory or Management experience
- Experience in software programs such as MSOffice, TDS and Signature
- Demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Familiarity with billing in an academic medical center, with hospital-based clinics
