About the Role
The Children’s University Swinburne is a transformative program inspiring young people aged 8–18 to raise their aspirations and develop a lifelong passion for learning. Through strong partnerships with schools and community learning destinations, the program delivers a rich range of engaging experiences that highlight diverse learning pathways and future career opportunities. Students’ achievements are celebrated and formally recognised through certificates awarded at annual graduation ceremonies.
The Manager, Children’s University plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and advancing the program’s impact. This role leads the strategic direction and growth of Children’s University Swinburne, building meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, securing funding, and strengthening the program’s profile both internally and externally. The Manager is responsible for ensuring program milestones are achieved, overseeing evaluation and reporting, and managing the program budget to support sustainable growth.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Under the broad direction of the Associate Director, Schools Engagement develop and lead the strategy to grow the Children’s University program at Swinburne.
- Build a network of high-level stakeholders to advocate for and champion the program.
- Provide authoritative advice and information on policies and procedures relating to equity and diversity issues and working with children.
- Collaborate with key central teams to build and maintain support for and visibility of the program and ensure it aligns with organisational priorities. Lead the CUS program
- Lead and provide advice on funding applications and work to secure future funding for the program.
- Lead the Children’s University team to form effective partnerships with schools and Learning Destinations in order to successfully deliver the program as evidenced by number of school and Learning Destination partners and number of Members.
- Oversee key events to ensure strategic alignment with both program and Swinburne University priorities.
- Establish and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with central teams and internal stakeholders, such as Communications, Advancement and the Academic Schools, to develop programs and support the delivery of the program.
- Develop and nurture productive relationships with colleagues across Swinburne, with emphasis on values of trust, collaboration, and shared leadership.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
