As Manager, Education & Training, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving high-quality vocational education outcomes, leading talented teams, and shaping innovative learning experiences that support student success and industry engagement.
This influential position provides strategic educational leadership and operational oversight across UQ Skills programs and staff. You will lead complex curriculum initiatives, mentor and develop teaching teams, and oversee the design, quality assurance, and delivery of training programs to ensure compliance, excellence, and alignment with UQ Skills' strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership across curriculum design, program delivery, and teaching and learning practices, driving innovation, quality, and student success.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, evidence-based practice, and exceptional student experience.
- Oversee regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to ASQA, DEWR, Queensland and New South Wales VET requirements while maintaining robust quality assurance frameworks.
- Contribute to strategic planning, business growth, and operational excellence through resource management, performance reporting, project leadership, and the development of new educational programs and processes.
The position reports to the Associate Director, Education & Training and supervises a team of educators within the Departments of UQ Skills.
About You
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and operations within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Completion of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and either a Diploma of Vocational Education, Diploma of Training Design and Development or other relevant higher degree.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and sustain industry partnerships and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong leadership capability, including leading diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Proven capability to lead teaching and assessment practices in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, specially all of standard 1.
- Experience designing and developing high quality, and innovative teaching and assessment curriculum in line with RTO compliance obligations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-jurisdictional compliance obligations and mitigating regulatory risk.
- Proven capability in financial planning and resource allocation to achieve growth and sustainability targets.
