Summary:
This position manages university technology systems, and/or specific components of systems, used to house faculty information, the Academic Faculty File, and related reporting. Systems include, but are not limited to, Banner and the Faculty Information System (FIS). Serves as NEOMED liaison to the FIS vendor and as project sponsor for systems set-up, integrations, and maintenance for the FIS and integrations with Banner. Using available system tools, designs and implements reports and report templates for use by faculty and university administrative personnel and ensures timely responses to faculty-related reporting requests from colleges or other university offices. Partners with Faculty Relations and Professional Development to issue system-related communications and conduct training for system users. Supervises the Database and Faculty Appointment Specialist and works to ensure data and reporting integrity and documentation of related office policies and procedures.
Principal Functional Responsibilities:
Faculty Information System (FIS) Management: Serve as project manager for acquisition of the annual subscription to the FIS. Initiate and/or manage ongoing system implementation activities and assure system maintenance. Coordinate and manage FIS technical data loads and schedules. Continuously refresh knowledge of system features as vendor innovations and enhancements become available. Administer system user groups; lead teams or ad hoc committees charged with FIS-related uses or innovations. Present system uses and benefits to University decision-makers and planning groups.
Faculty Reporting and Compliance: Serve as content expert and lead designer for University faculty reporting and FIS report development. Develop institutional dashboards and longitudinal records for faculty demographics. Collaborate with Department Chairs to revise and improve FIS data collection and reporting pertinent to the NEOMED Faculty Workload Policy. Provide direction to departmental staff responding to faculty-related data requests. Initiate calls for faculty data inputs to the FIS. Develop, implement, and direct continuous quality improvement processes for faculty reporting. Ensure reporting compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards related to faculty.
Faculty Data Integrity: Assure integrity of the University faculty roster. Manage FIS data quality via integration with Banner and through timely data input requests to faculty. Create and conduct data audit routines across all faculty information and record-keeping systems to ensure data quality.
Training and Technical Support: Provide direction, guidance and technical support to system users, troubleshoot issues and assist with system upgrades. Develop and conduct training for university faculty and administrative personnel system users.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Higher Education settings, or Information Technology in educational settings.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Higher Education, Information Technology or related field.
- Experience with technical specifications working with project managers, business analysts, and programmers. Experience with end-to-end system testing.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with graduate or professional programs and evaluation.
- Experience with documenting procedures, institutional and office policies, and updating existing policies.
- Familiarity with faculty bylaws, accreditation, and compliance expectations (regional, professional, or medical where applicable).
- Banner or other ERP experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment.

Starting Salary Range: $60,356 – $71,422, commensurate with experience
