About the Role

Swinburne University of Technology Library is seeking a strategic and collaborative Manager, Scholarly Resources to lead the delivery of high-quality scholarly resources that support teaching, learning and research across the University.

Reporting to the University Librarian, this senior role oversees library collections, acquisitions, licensing and copyright services, along with significant collection budgets. You will lead a specialist team and work closely with library colleagues, academic and professional stakeholders, vendors and partners to ensure Swinburne’s library digital and physical resources are sustainable, future-focused and aligned with institutional priorities in Australia and internationally.

This role is ideal for an experienced leader with deep expertise in acquisitions, licensing and copyright, strong financial and data capability, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Proven ability to establish and manage high-performing, engaged, and cross-skilled teams in an educational or library setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of current library, digital and information management, resource management, copyright and licensing practices as they relate to the educational sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in building effective internal and external partnerships, complex stakeholder management, and driving and negotiating change.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills in critical thinking, forward planning, project management, problem solving and innovation.
  • A sound knowledge of, and interest in, vendor negotiation, licensing, copyright law, and intellectual property as they relate to the educational sector.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, extensive management experience and proven management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
