Mathematics Instructor - Tenure Track
This is a full-time tenure-track position beginning Fall 2026, continuing with annual nine-month contracts. The salary will be determined according to the candidate's educational background, teaching experience, and applicable work experience. This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by The Green River United Faculty Coalition.
The Green River College mathematics division serves a diverse body of students in classes ranging from pre-college through the first two years of college-level STEM education. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic math instructor to work in a collaborative, progressive, and creative division. ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical, 15% Adult Basic Education, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses which include the main campus in Auburn and satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans among other communities.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure success for a diverse student population
- Teach courses ranging from prealgebra through differential equations, including statistics
- Advise students, assist in curriculum development, and participate in other college and departmental activities
Minimum qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution with a major in the following:
a. Mathematics or
b. Applied Mathematics or
c. Education with a focus in Teaching Mathematics or
d. Mathematics Education or
e. Statistics - Teaching experience such as leading a class, tutoring, TA work, running a lab section, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching math courses at a community college
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities
- Demonstrated ability to teach in the online, face-to-face, and/or hybrid modalities
- Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team
- Interest and willingness to participate in campus service
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Demonstrated strong work ethic
