The Position

The Heavy Ion Accelerators (HIA) National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) project operates world-leading particle accelerators for a wide variety of scientific and industrial applications. HIA infrastructure is hosted at the Australian National University and the University of Melbourne, and we enable researchers to build a fundamental understanding of nuclear physics, develop new medical treatments and tools to fight cancer, build advanced quantum computing technologies, monitor and protect our environment, and test electronics destined for space.
