About This Opportunity

As the Project Manager, Research Projects, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the RISE project, a large-scale, multidisciplinary initiative focused on reducing the incidence and prevalence of sexually transmissible infections among First Nations peoples. Working in close partnership with Chief Investigators, research teams and community stakeholders, you will lead complex project planning and delivery in a highly collaborative, purpose‑driven environment where research excellence and cultural respect go hand in hand.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end project management across complex, multi‑modal research initiatives, including planning, sequencing, milestones and delivery.
  • Coordinating internal resources and stakeholders to ensure project objectives, timelines and outcomes are achieved.
  • Managing financial resources, budgets and reporting in line with research project plans and University policies.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in research management systems, quality assurance and governance in collaboration with senior researchers.

About You

You are an experienced and values‑driven project manager who thrives in complex research environments and brings a collaborative, people‑centred approach to your work. You will bring:

  • Postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate study, with extensive experience in research or project management; or an undergraduate degree with substantial relevant experience and training.
  • Demonstrated experience managing research projects in multidisciplinary environments, ideally within tertiary education or clinical research settings.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior researchers, industry partners and community representatives.
  • Proven capability in financial and resource management, including budget oversight and reporting.
  • Experience working with, and for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly regarded.
