Working in a collaborative and high-performing environment, you’ll coordinate trial activities across the full lifecycle—from ethics and regulatory submissions through to monitoring and reporting—ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance, and data integrity. You’ll partner with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to support innovative research, contribute to pre-award activities, and help strengthen trial management systems.

This position reports to a Trial Manager within the UQ Clinical Trials Centre’s Trial Management Team.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • End-to-end trial coordination: Support planning, start-up, documentation, site activities and close-out, ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP, ethics, governance, and quality standards.
  • Operational and financial support: Monitor milestones, assist with budgets and financial tracking, and contribute to pre-award activities including feasibility and proposal development.
  • Data management and reporting: Collate trial data, support adverse event monitoring, and prepare accurate, timely reports for stakeholders, committees, and funders.
  • Stakeholder engagement and quality improvement: Liaise with investigators and sites, act as a key coordination contact, and contribute to continuous improvement and a collaborative team culture.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Trials Coordinator with relevant qualifications in health, science, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) to support and coordinate clinical trial activities within the UQ Clinical Trials Centre. Working closely with senior trial management, you will contribute to a dynamic, high-performing team, applying strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for ongoing professional growth.

  • Clinical Trial Coordination Expertise: Demonstrated experience in supporting central coordination of multi-centre randomised clinical trials from initiation to completion, including compliance with ICH-GCP, ethics, and institutional governance.
  • Research Methodology & Data Management: Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, data management strategies, data integrity principles and clinical trial regulatory requirements, with the ability to collate and maintain accurate trial data.
  • Project and Resource Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, monitor timelines, and support delivery of milestones in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and ensuring tasks are followed through to completion.
  • Financial Oversight: Experience in assisting with budget monitoring and reporting and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Quality Management: High standards of accuracy and precision across all aspects of trial coordination, including documentation, data integrity, compliance, and reporting, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with investigators, trial sites and collaborators, with the ability to create and maintain relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technological Proficiency: Working knowledge of clinical trial management systems, platforms, and tools, with the ability to learn and apply new technologies effectively.
