Position Summary:
The Mentoring Program Coordinator performs a full range of operations and administrative tasks in support of the students enrolled in Capital's mentoring programs. The coordinator provides coordination between programs for events as well as reporting on the work funded by grants. In addition, the position provides advising services to prospective students to assist them in enrolling in programs best suited to their academic and experiential preparation. The position also performs outreach tasks to inform communities about the programs and services of the campus and to promote enrollment meeting College program standards.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Director of Advising, the Mentoring Program Coordinator is responsible for effective performance in these essential duties:
- Admissions advising.
- Outreach and student recruitment.
- Program operation.
- Professional Development.
- Planning of enrichment events.
- Record keeping and reporting.
- Financial aid advising and processing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in an appropriately related field together with one (1) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the positions essential duties.
**Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:**
- Demonstrated skills and abilities in office administration including competence in use of personal computers with word processing and spreadsheet software applications, and video conferencing.
- Demonstrated understanding of undergraduate academic enrollment requirements and of undergraduate curricula appropriate to the Colleges offerings.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence in advising students and applicants regarding academic courses appropriate for their preparation and career goals.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and interact favorably with students, parents, school officials and others in academic environments.
- Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).

$39.44 hourly.
