"Non-Tenure Track Online Faculty Position"

The College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies (CECS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) seeks dynamic, collaborative, and innovative non-tenure track faculty to create and provide instruction in a fully online program in Applied Cybersecurity (CYBR). This is a twelve-month appointment to begin as soon as possible, with a targeted start no later than January 2026.

Primary responsibilities include developing and instructing online asynchronous courses in undergraduate applied CYBR topics such as cybersecurity concepts, cryptography and data protection, cybersecurity tools, risk management, policy frameworks, cybersecurity for network-controlled systems, and cybercrime and digital law enforcement.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree with expertise in data science, applied artificial intelligence, and related fields. Preference is given to degrees in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar. Required qualifications include higher education teaching experience, ability to design and deliver courses in various formats, and a strong commitment to teaching and service.

Track and rank qualifications include: Teaching Assistant Professor (Ph.D. with promise in teaching), Teaching Associate Professor (terminal degree with at least three years of teaching experience), and Teaching Professor (terminal degree with sustained excellence and leadership).

The position offers an option to be fully remote. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with a teaching load of 4/4/2 online courses once the program launches.
