The UW Department of Neurology and its associated Memory and Brain Wellness Center (MBWC) seek faculty to join our team at the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). New faculty will participate in clinical care and research in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias (ADRD). The UW ADRC is one of the longest-running NIH-designated AD centers of excellence in the nation, and is integrated with the Memory and Brain Wellness Center clinic, its associated Clinical Trials, and an innovative Program for community education and impact housed in The Memory Hub. The successful candidates will join an extremely strong multidisciplinary group of clinicians and investigators. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.
This is a full-time appointment and is a Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding). The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $20,215 - $22,917 per month ($242,580 to $275,004 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for the Associate Professor title will be $22,602 - $25,057 ($271,224 to $300,684 per year) and the base salary range for the Professor title will be $25,344 - $28,504 per month ($304,128 to $342,048 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Our salaries are benchmarked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance, Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2026.
Qualifications
Requirements include:
- M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent degree.
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
- In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
