P/T Purchasing Assistant
Position Announcement
Utah Tech University is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Purchasing team as a Part-Time Purchasing Assistant / PCard Assistant. This role supports daily purchasing operations, Purchase Card (PCard) maintenance and auditing, and assists with maintaining compliance with university and state procurement policies. The position will work closely with the Purchasing staff to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely procurement and PCard processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with PCard transaction review and auditing for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Follow up with cardholders regarding missing receipts, incorrect allocations, or required approvals.
- Support the issuing, replacement, and cancelation of PCards and maintain associated logs and documentation.
- Help prepare monthly PCard reminders and compliance communications.
- Support Purchasing and Business Services with fiscal year-end tasks and procurement deadlines.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, organizing records, and data entry.
- Work with campus departments to support purchasing needs and PCard requirements.
- Provide clear and professional assistance via email, phone, and in-person communication.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree is required, preferably in business management or a related field.
- Experience in purchasing or administrative support is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professionalism and confidentiality are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff position, working upwards of 29 hours per week Monday-Friday. Hourly rate of $14/hr.
