Part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term role for a detail orientated Research assistant
- Opportunity to support applied health research at Westmead within the Westmead Applied Research Centre Cardiology team
Base Salary $89,755.00 + 17% superannuation (pro rata)
About the opportunity
Seeking a Research Assistant providing high-quality research support within the Westmead Applied Research Centre, contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of applied research projects. Working closely with researchers, clinicians, and external partners, you will support grant applications, data management, and research documentation while ensuring strong compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
This role plays a key part in enabling impactful research outcomes by supporting research activity from planning through to reporting and publication.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- support the development and execution of research protocols in collaboration with researchers and clinical partners
- coordinate and submit grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funding requirements
- assist with research data collection, analysis, and quality assurance activities
- manage research documentation and publication processes from drafting through to submission
- engage with internal and external stakeholders to support effective communication and collaboration
- process research purchasing and payment activities, including invoice management
- engage in ongoing learning pertaining to cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.
About you
- experience working in a research-intensive or higher education environment
- demonstrated experience supporting research administration or research projects, with clinical trials experience desirable
- able to work independently and as part of a team
- capacity to work on-site
- have a reasonable understanding of anatomy and physiology
- experience assisting with grant applications and research compliance processes
- ability to conduct scientific literature searches and support research reporting
- experience managing research data and maintaining accurate records within systems
- tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
