The Aircraft Maintenance Technician I assists in conducting aircraft maintenance in support of Aims Community College's Aviation Department program in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations/guidance as they pertain to aircraft airworthiness. Under the Aims Aviation Department and the Public Safety, Education, and Transportation Division, the Aircraft Maintenance Technician I works at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport in Loveland, Colorado. The staff member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog and be a part of scholarly and creative activities (professional development) and service to the college. This position reports to the Director, Aircraft Maintenance.

Job Duties: Assist with Aircraft Maintenance: Assist with troubleshooting of aircraft system discrepancies. Assist with performing required inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on aircraft and associated aircraft appliances in accordance with established schedules and as directed. Assist with providing on-call aircraft and flight crew support, on rotating basis. Assist with providing local aircraft departure and arrival support - preflight checks, postflight checks, ramp positioning, as well as oversee line service and fueling processes. Assist with Component Management: Assist with testing, adjustments, and repairs on aircraft and subsystems using various test equipment, technical diagrams, maintenance manuals, and tooling. Assist with researching and investigating all possible solutions to engine, airframe, and associated appliance malfunctions. Assist with replacement of parts such as LRUs, avionics, hydraulic, fuel, and other aircraft system components. Assist with exercising sound judgment and experience to accomplish a variety of complicated tasks. Assist with performing aircraft tug maintenance as required. General Support: Assisting in maintaining all ground support equipment. Assisting with hangar maintenance and housekeeping. Assisting with maintaining aircraft cleanliness. Other Duties as Assigned.

Work Hours: 20 hours/week, rotating schedule rotating schedule will work nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of any work experience. Proven ability to take direction. This position requires the use of a company vehicle for business travel. The selected candidate must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance. A pre-employment post-offer physical evaluation will be required of the selected candidate. Must be able to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Aviation, Engineering, Education, or another related field. One year of operational aircraft maintenance experience. Experience with Aircraft maintenance tools. FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
