Part-Time Faculty: ARL 271 Papermaking Workshop (Fall 2025)
The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach ARL 271 Papermaking Workshop, a one credit hour, five-week course, during the Fall semester, 2025. This hands-on workshop introduces the basics in techniques of papermaking including: eastern fibers, eastern sheet formation, western fibers, western sheet formation, using the Hollander beater, and the history of papermaking.

Qualifications: MFA or equivalent. Job Specific Qualifications: Experience teaching papermaking processes.
Responsibilities: Teach a 1 credit-hour course, twice per week, 5-weeks, 5-hours per week in the classroom, 5-hours per week for preparation. In addition: Developing and/or updating a class syllabus, Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments, Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course, Meeting all designated class periods, If unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, reschedule or obtain a substitute and notify the department chair, Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations, Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner, Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations, Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
