Part Time Faculty, EDSP, School Psychology & Counseling
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department and aligned with the University mission.
- Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department/program.
- Participation in departmental activities as identified by the department chair or program director.
- Determine student mastery of material and assessing final course grades from evaluation of student work and activities related to course material.
Educational Requirements:
An earned doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology, Counseling, Educational/School Psychology, Clinical Psychology or related field, and be licensed/license eligible or credentialed (P.P.S.) as a mental health provider (e.g. psychologist, LPCC, school counselor/psychologist) in California. Evidence of teaching in graduate-level courses and/or experience in fieldwork supervision is preferred. Bilingual skills are highly desirable.

The Department of Educational Support Services is seeking Part-time faculty to teach courses in group counseling, career counseling, addictions counseling, human sexuality, social-emotional-behavioral functions (DSM-V), community psychology, lifespan development, fieldwork for schools, and fieldwork for mental health. Our fully accredited MA, credential, and certificate programs prepare aspiring educators to enter the field, and provide current educators with the skills they need to go forward in their careers.
You are invited to submit an application to be included in the general pool of part-time faculty candidates in the areas of counseling and school psychology from which part-time faculty will be selected to teach courses.
Schedule Information: Graduate level courses are held in the late afternoon and evenings.
