General Description

The Part Time Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for receiving all incoming telephone calls and directing to appropriate extension as well as assisting all whom walk through the door at the Bay City Campus. This position assists in answering general questions pertaining to Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) and specific questions relating to the Bay City Campus and assists in providing clerical support to the staff and faculty of the Bay City Campus. The receptionist has the responsibility of carrying out the functions of the offices of Business, Registrar, Financial Aid, Adult Education, Continuing Education and Testing.

Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of full time (or 12 months of part time) office work experience. Superior organizational and clerical skills, with current word processing software knowledge as well as other computer skills are required. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to service. This position requires the ability to provide continuous courteous customer service to student, staff, and administration. A criminal background check is required.
