Job Description
Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty in-person courses in English Composition.
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 3-5 credits.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, Technical/Professional Writing, English Literature, Creative Writing, or related field.
- Available to teach in person, particularly between 9:30am and 4:00pm.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching first year composition.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) Canvas, Blackboard, or D2L.
- Relevant industry experience in a writing-based field.
