Part-time Instructors for Master's in Sport Management
Position Announcement
The Health and Human Performance department is seeking qualified instructors to teach graduate-level courses in the online Master's in Sport Management program. There is an immediate need for the following courses to be developed and taught within the next academic year.
- Strategic Sport Marketing and Communication (SPMG 6540)
- Human Movement Science and Instrumentation (SPMG 6820)
Only candidates from Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, Texas, and Utah will be considered for online instructor positions.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, lead group discussions, grade assignments, and assign grades.
- Collaborate with the Program Director, as needed, to develop curriculum and create course assessments.
- Respond to student inquiries and be available to meet with students online, as needed.
- Abide by all applicable executive orders, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, as well as University policies and procedures relating to part-time faculty and general campus employment. Attend and/or complete required trainings by the University and additional training as determined by the Department or Program.
Qualifications
- A Master's or doctoral degree in Sport Management or related discipline.
- Individuals without a masters or doctoral degree can be considered for a position, if they have a combination of the following: 1) Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, 2) extensive sport industry experience, and 3) evidence of continual professional development.
- Must be employed full-time in the sports industry or have an active scholarly agenda (publication, presentations, etc.) consistent with an academic appointment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of course content.
Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time instructor position paid at $925 per credit hour; governed by University Policies 631 and 638.
