The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) (https://knsm.tamu.edu) within the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University is accepting applications for one full-time, tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are well versed in mentoring faculty and doctoral students, who have a proven record of high impact research, ability to garner external funding, and leadership abilities. Strong candidates will be established scholars with an impactful research program that will advance the current department’s research strengths. The candidate will become an integral part of the Sport Management faculty, with expectations to engage in research efforts including interdisciplinary collaborations, aggressively seek funding opportunities, provide research mentorship for students, as well as teach graduate/undergraduate courses, and be involved in service responsibilities.

Appointment: Nine-month, full-time, tenure-track/tenured position with a start date of August 1, 2026. All tenure-track/tenured faculty members are expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching, and service. Salary, benefits, and compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a juris doctorate or a doctoral degree in Sport Management or related academic discipline
  • Must have training and experience in impactful research with a record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals and presentations at national meetings
  • Must demonstrate a feasible plan for acquiring internal and external funding for cross-disciplinary research
  • Must have previous scholarship addressing sport management issues and theoretical advancements
  • Must show evidence of effective teaching and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students
  • Must show evidence of commitment and collaboration
  • Must show evidence of specific accomplishments demonstrating expertise in an area of Sport Management that complements existing faculty

About the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) at Texas A&M University: KNSM is the largest academic department at Texas A&M University and is the home to two research divisions, Sport Management and Kinesiology, and one program area, Physical Education Activity Program. Our ~100 faculty and 36 staff members provide education to over 2,300 undergraduate students and about 275 graduate students. The mission of the Department of KNSM at Texas A&M University is foster a culture of collective growth where we elevate ourselves and others through ambitious thinking, thoughtful risk taking, and confident pursuit of excellence in the fields of human movement and sport. KNSM focuses on research, training, and services related to the science and benefits of human movement, sport, health, and wellness. The College of Education and Human Development’s Office of Research Enterprise offers full-service research support from pre- to post-award, and various other services.
