The salary has been established by the grant proposal. The first-year base salary is $20,800.

Duties and Responsibilities

The AUM College of Education is currently seeking a part-time Program Manager of a recently awarded U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Populations grant called Project INVEST-AL. The purpose of the grant is to increase the number of teachers in Alabama who are trained to work with students with visual impairments and blindness over the next five (5) years.

The Program Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the resource manager for the project which includes ordering and purchasing of materials, ensuring students receive scholarships and stipends.
  • Support the project's organizational aspects such as collecting documentation from students as needed.
  • Manage the content of the project's website, collaborate on the development of recruitment materials, and support all aspects of recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Effectively communicate with all students within the project.
  • Support the external evaluator with data collection as applicable.
  • Collaborate on the annual reports to the US Department of Education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Skill in using computer software programs (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn the AUM financial systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in an office setting.
  • Experience managing financial systems.
  • Experience with organizational tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or higher degree.
  • Experience working within higher education or large organizations.
