The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

The Project Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational management for the current Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre and associated high-value projects, shaping direction, managing risk, and influencing senior decision-making. They will drive innovation, champion best practice, and ensure lasting impact through high-quality delivery and strong team performance.

About the Role

The post is part-time (60% FTE) and it is funded to 31 March 2028. It is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis, minimum on site working 2 days (Tuesday and Wednesday for scheduled BRC Team Meetings).

You will provide overall direction for the complex, high-value/strategically significant projects, ensuring effective resource planning, task allocation, and successful delivery. You will lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, and line manage members of the project team, providing day to day guidance and advice. You will offer expert input into planning and strategy and communicate complex project information to diverse audiences including stakeholders.

About You

You will be educated to postgraduate degree level in a biomedical research subject area and have substantial project management experience in delivering complex, high-value or multi-stakeholder projects. With experience in managing complex budgets and ensuring financial compliance you will have the proven ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential along with a proactive approach to risk management and issue resolution. A formal project management qualification would be desirable as would experience working in a complex academic or research environment.
