Pharmacy Lecturer - SEM - Veterinary Medicine Elective

Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy seeks a semester lecturer (associated track) to develop and deliver elective coursework related to veterinary medicine remotely within the PharmD program during spring semester. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the teaching mission of The Ohio State University and possess relevant and current work experience in the veterinary medicine setting as well as participation in scholarly activities (teaching, research, and/or service).

Performance Objectives

  • Develops and/or teaches courses in PharmD curriculum classes as assigned.
  • Responsible for the creation of lecture materials, facilitation of in-class learning activities, assessment (i.e., quizzes, exams, assignments, and homework if applicable), offering of weekly office hours, oversight of teaching assistant(s) (if assigned), submission of grades, and resolution of any ongoing student or course issues.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent; Significant experience providing direct patient care (either currently or within the last two years) in veterinary medicine setting.

Desired: Active status as a fellow of the Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists (FSVHP); Experience teaching Doctor of Pharmacy students, especially in the setting of a veterinary medicine elective course.

The Division of Pharmacy Education and Innovation aims to advance the pharmacy profession through innovative, multidisciplinary courses and programs across all levels of learning from undergraduate and professional degrees to public education.
