Job Summary
Development of sustainable ZnAlMg-X alloy coating for green steel applications. ZnAlMg alloys coated steel are essential for automotive components, building components, domestic appliances, and electrical goods. This project investigates the impact of using green steel as a substrate while improving corrosion and cracking resistance, formability, applicability, and removability for recycling.
Responsibilities
- Investigate the performance of ZnAlMg-X alloy coatings on green steel.
- Improve corrosion resistance, cracking resistance, formability, applicability, and recyclability.
Qualifications and Requirements
- MSc degree in materials science and engineering.
- Strong background in metallurgy, galvanization, and corrosion science.
- Excellent academic record and personal attributes such as curiosity, creativity, and ambition.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with experts.
- Fluency in English, with minimum scores of IELTS 6.5, TOEFL computer-based 237, or TOEFL internet-based 92.
What the Employer Offers
- A full-time position (1.0 FTE) for four years, starting with a one-year contract renewable based on progress.
- Salary ranging from €3,059 gross per month in the first year to a maximum of €3,881 gross per month in the fourth year.
- Holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
- Enrollment in a PhD training program and the Graduate School of Science and Engineering.
- Preferred starting date of 1 January 2026.
