Physician Assistant Clinical or Tenure Track Faculty
Summary
The D’Youville University Physician Assistant program is seeking a 12-month clinical or tenure track faculty, at the rank of clinical assistant or assistant professor, respectively. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching 24 credit hours across the PA curriculum, advising students, contributing service to the program, university, and community, and engaging in professional development and scholarship. The candidate will primarily support the clinical phase of the curriculum and collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator to ensure effective delivery and oversight of clinical education.
Responsibilities
Teaching
- Responsible to teach clinical courses
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative course environment
- Develop and implement course assignments, exams, and deliver learning activities that permit measurement of course student learning outcomes
- Assist with remediation of students
- Work synergistically with student support services at the University
Clinical Education Support
- Support the Clinical Coordinator with clinical site recruitment, management, student placement, and preceptor communication
- Develop, manage, and evaluate the clinical education curriculum
- Support the Clinical Coordinator with the monitoring and assessment of student and preceptor performance at the clinical site
- Initiate affiliation agreements between the PA program and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives
Scholarship and Professional Activity
- Participate in professional development related to PA education
- Participate in continuing education and scholarly work including but not limited to presentations, contributions to publications, or leadership in professional organizations
- Maintain NCCPA certification and NYS licensure
Service
- Participate in PA Program Committees (clinical year, curriculum, student progress, admissions, etc.)
- Serve on Faculty Senate or other University-level committees, school-wide task forces, standing committees, and/or workgroups
- Participate in recruitment events and other events of the PA Department
- Select applicants for admission to the program
Additional responsibilities include participation in accreditation needs of the program, which includes adhering to accreditation standards and participation in accreditation reports.
Qualifications
Education
- Currently NCCPA-certified or hold an NCCPA emeritus status
- Currently licensed or eligible for license to practice in New York State
- The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- A master’s degree is required, a doctoral degree is preferred
Experience
- Three years of clinical experience is preferred, one year clinical experience required
- Teaching experience strongly preferred

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 Annually

Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
