Job Summary

The Vereniging Universiteiten van Nederland (UNL) is seeking a full-time Policy Advisor on Security to coordinate and initiate activities on safety themes. This role involves collaboration with colleagues, supporting board members, and developing strategies on topics like social safety, integral safety, and cybersecurity. The advisor will maintain external relations and respond to trends in safety policy.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and initiate roles on safety themes, working with colleagues from other domains.
- Support portfolio holders in the UNL board and align with various administrative networks.
- Develop strategies in consultation with stakeholders on sub-topics such as social safety, integral safety, and cybersecurity.
- Monitor new trends and developments in safety policy.
- Ensure execution of board decisions and coordinate during national crises with university safety advisors.
- Maintain external relations with partners in the safety domain and government.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Academic work and thinking level.
- Well-developed sense of political-administrative and managerial relations.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Insight into current issues in higher education and research.
- Knowledge of or affinity with various safety themes in higher education and research.
- Existing relevant network.
- Result-oriented with experience in project-based work.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to think beyond own field.
- Skilled in creating administrative and managerial support, maintaining roles, and addressing problems transparently.
- Open to giving and receiving feedback.
