Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at LBCC offers a specific range of courses, including Positioning, Ethics, Radiation Biology, Protection, Physics, Production and Characteristics, and Patient Care. The Diagnostic Imaging instructor develops, plans, and presents organized lectures, laboratory activities, and out-of-class assignments in accordance with approved course outlines. Instructors may also be assigned to assist other faculty’s courses as secondary lab instructors.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree and ARRT Registered.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer one year of Radiology Technology experience in the field, one-year broad-based teaching experience in a clinical setting, high school, community college, or university setting or comparable experience.

Essential Duties

Applicants must possess a combination of academic preparation and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to:

1. Develop course schedules and syllabi.
2. Plan, develop and deliver classroom lectures and activities.
3. Plan, develop and deliver brief pre-lab lectures and activities
4. Develop methods to assess student progress and competence in accordance to course learning outcomes
5. Develop or adapt interactive/active learning laboratory exercises designed to engage different types of learners
6. Practice and enforce departmental safety standards in the lab. Maintain and demonstrate industry standards of safety for students.
7. Keep track of equipment at lab stations and verify that all equipment is left at each lab station in good condition at the end of each laboratory section.
8. Practice and enforce good laboratory technique along with end-of-lab clean-up.
9. Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
10. Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. Promote both a classroom environment and a curriculum of equity and inclusivity. Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
11. Communicate effectively in oral and written English.
12. Submit reports of student learning outcomes
