The post-doctoral trainee will be performing functional analysis of proteins involved in cell signaling in Trypanosoma cruzi. Dr. Lander’s recent funded NIH grant involves multi-disciplinary studies, and includes genetic manipulation of trypanosomes, phenotypic analyses of mutant cell lines, mammalian cell culture, proteomic and transcriptomic analyses, enzymatic activity, and state-of-the-art microscopy techniques, among other approaches to investigate cell signaling mechanisms in trypanosomatids. We have extensive experience in genome editing and cell signaling in T. cruzi (https://researchdirectory.uc.edu/p/landernm). This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and apply cellular and molecular biology techniques. Qualified candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a group environment. The post-doc will train in a vibrant and nationally recognized academic setting.
