Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Samuel M Young, Jr is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our basic and translational research team in the UNC Gene Therapy Center. My research is focuses on two general areas: 1) Molecular principles of auditory information processing, and 2) Gene Therapy approaches to treat neurological disorders. ... The candidate is expected to present scientific findings at scientific meetings and via peer-reviewed publications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree, PhD, MD/PhD or PharmD, with background in biomedical research.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Candidates must have a PhD in a related scientific discipline. We are looking for candidates with background in one of these areas: proteomics, electrophysiology, microscopy, ion channels, synaptic physiology, biophysics advanced molecular biology, stem cells, virology, hearing sciences, gene therapy, viral vectorology, cerebellar function, neurological disorders or auditory or cerebellar behavior tasks.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The candidate should have previous experience working with lab animal models, cell culture, molecular biology and immunology techniques. Motivation, independence, and excellent interpersonal skills are desirable.
