Job description:
To investigate the role of cell death sensing in regulating immune responses, with a particular focus wound healing. This position seeks to elucidate how cell death sensing in models of wound healing determines scarring versus repair and regeneration. The work involves integration of mouse models, additional rodent models of regeneration, flow cytometry-based immune profiling, and molecular dissection of cell death and efferocytosis pathways, aiming to uncover immune-regulatory mechanisms with relevance to repair, regeneration, infection, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Design and conduct in vivo experiments using murine models to study the immune response to injury
• Perform high-dimensional flow cytometry for immune phenotyping and apoptosis/efferocytosis analysis
• Use molecular and cellular tools (e.g., gene knockdown, qPCR) to dissect pathways of cell death sensing
• Conduct transcriptomic and pathway analyses (e.g., RNA-seq, scRNAseq) to uncover regulatory networks
• Generate figures and contribute to manuscript writing and data presentations for publication and conferences
• Assist in maintaining and optimizing core immunological assays and cytometry platforms
• Present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences; contribute to collaborative research discussions
• Prepare figures, methods, and manuscripts for publications
• Mentor junior trainees and contribute to the lab’s knowledge-sharing and collaborative environment
