Post Doctoral Scholar
Post Doctoral Scholar to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The Ohio State University studying electrochemical functionalization of C-H bonds. The Post Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with the primary goal to determine how efficient synthetic methods for preparing organic molecules. Duties will include conducting laboratory work centered around organic synthesis, inorganic synthetic, reaction mechanism investigation; leading manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Other responsibilities include attending group meeting, managing group logistics.
Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry or a related field by the time of hire is required, along with a strong theoretical or practical background in organic or inorganic chemistry. Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining a GCMS, GC, glovebox; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and a collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring.
Desired skills and techniques include organic and inorganic synthesis, organic methodology development, electrochemistry, photochemistry. These required and desired skills should be demonstrated through a record of peer-reviewed publications.
