Position Summary
Michigan State University Counseling and Psychiatric Services (MSU CAPS) is excited to announce that it is accepting applications for the Post-Master's Fellowship. MSU CAPS has a long history of clinical training and at its core is a training program focused on multiculturalism and social justice, honoring differing experiences and the multiple ways of knowing. We are committed to helping develop the next generation of mental health professionals who are willing to foster self-reflective practice along with cultural humility.
This position will provide individual and group services and receive training in a multiculturally-focused, inclusive, collaborative, and integrated mental health environment. The Fellow will engage in both experiential and didactic training that provides them expertise in working in collegiate mental health as well as a variety of other careers. Candidates will have the opportunity to choose from pre-determined emphasis areas to develop specific expertise in those areas. Each of the following concentration areas will be available for the applicant to select upon acceptance of the offer: Complex Trauma Assessment and Intervention; Multicultural Engagement & Outreach; Psychodynamic Psychotherapy; and LGBTQIA+ Empowerment, Identity, Development and Affirming Care.
The Post Master's Fellowship is a fixed-term position that begins in August and ends in July. As a Michigan State University employee, Fellows are eligible for benefits programs as well as paid holidays. Supervision towards full licensure will also be provided by a CAPS staff member who holds appropriate credentials.

Required Degree
Masters -Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must have completed (or conferred) a master's degree from an accredited program by start date.
- License-eligible in the State of Michigan
- General skills, knowledge, and experience in individual and group counseling and psychotherapy
