"Postdoc Enzyme-Based Metal and Composite Surface Cleaning Technologies"

Job Summary

Join the team to develop a new generation of enzyme-based technology for surface cleaning of structures such as aircraft, aiming for sustainable alternatives to chemical agents with significant environmental impact. The project involves searching for and/or designing enzymes or enzyme mixtures to clean different contaminants, using chemical, electrochemical, and optical surface characterization techniques in a transdisciplinary approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on enzymes and surface science of materials like alloys and composites.
• Perform experimental activities, including theoretical design of enzymes based on experimental data.
• Collaborate with experts in surface science, protein engineering, and industry partners.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must have: A PhD in Bioengineering, Enzymology, Protein Engineering, or Chemistry; theoretical background and practical experience with enzymes; independent high-level writing and oral communication skills; curiosity-driven mindset; strong motivation for independent research; inclination for team-work in an international environment; academic mindset for high-risk problem-driven research; desire to publish articles and participate in meetings and conferences.
• Good to have: Experience in protein engineering/design, electrochemical testing, surface characterization techniques (e.g., SFG, Raman, microFTIR, XPS), and patents.
